Dr. Deborah Baker

Dr. Deborah Baker is a visionary leader, respected community advocate, educator, counselor, minister, and philanthropist whose unwavering commitment to serving others has transformed countless lives throughout the Greater Houston area and beyond. For more than three decades, she has dedicated her life to empowering individuals, strengthening families, and building healthier communities through education, counseling, ministry, and outreach initiatives.
A board-certified Christian Counselor and graduate of ASAP Counseling Services, Dr. Baker has devoted her career to helping individuals navigate life's challenges through faith, healing, and personal development. She holds a bachelor's degree through the National Association of Christian Counselors and has become widely recognized for her compassionate approach to mentoring, counseling, and community engagement.
Driven by her passion for emotional and spiritual restoration, Dr. Baker founded Let the Healing Begin Ministries, an organization committed to providing counseling, mentoring, and support services to individuals and families seeking healing and hope. Through this ministry, she has touched the lives of thousands of women, children, and families, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical resources that foster lasting transformation.
Expanding her vision for community impact, Dr. Baker established Heavenly Love Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safe, supportive, and dependable programs for underserved communities. Through initiatives such as the Caring Hearts Project, she has championed youth development, educational support, artistic enrichment, and family empowerment programs throughout Northeast Houston. Her work has helped bridge critical gaps by connecting families with grants, nonprofit resources, educational opportunities, and government assistance programs.
As the Founder, CEO, and Director of LBJ Creative Ideas Learning Academy, Dr. Baker continues to make a profound difference in the lives of children and families. Under her leadership, the academy has become a Christ-centered educational institution focused on nurturing young learners while supporting parents and caregivers. In 2026, the academy achieved significant milestones by earning designation as a Texas Rising Star Provider and becoming a certified participant in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) Program, further expanding educational opportunities for families throughout the region.
Dr. Baker's commitment to community service extends far beyond her organizations. She has spearheaded numerous fundraising efforts, community programs, educational workshops, leadership conferences, and outreach initiatives designed to uplift individuals from all walks of life. Her landmark conference, "Let the Healing Begin," has provided a powerful platform for addressing relational health, emotional healing, and personal growth, equipping attendees with practical tools for building stronger and healthier relationships.
A servant leader at heart, Dr. Baker has partnered with and supported numerous churches, ministries, and nonprofit organizations throughout Houston, including The Point Christian Outreach Ministries, Ambition of Christ Restoration Center, Holy Temple Fairbanks, New Light Christian Center, Apostolic Tabernacle, Relentless Church, Women Emerge Ministries, KT Empower Missions, and many others. Her collaborative spirit and dedication to community advancement have made her a trusted leader and influential force across diverse sectors.
In recognition of her extraordinary service and lasting contributions, the City of Houston honored Dr. Baker in December 2022 with an official resolution proclaiming a day in her honor, acknowledging her remarkable achievements and impact on the Houston community and surrounding areas.
Continuing her mission of outreach and empowerment, Dr. Baker launched Follow Me Ministries and expanded her influence through Forever Rhema Radio Broadcasting and Forever Rhema Word Television, creating platforms that inspire, educate, and encourage audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.
